William Allen, from Victoria, British Columbia is on a quest to build a web site which will eventually consist of over 263 original early 1800's Salmon Flies, plus current favorite Trout and Steelhead Flies. He has a keen interest in the the Classics and as you will see on his web site he has done some research into the history of the flies he ties. Billy has been generous enough to share some fine examples of his skills in tying Classic Salmon Flies. Visit his site, William Allen's Fly-Tying Pages for more examples of his work and a look at the origin of the Classics.
William M. Allen was born in Espanolia Ont. (1948). He became involved in fly fishing at an early age. "I've hitch-hiked from Alaska to Panama and from the Atlantic to the Pacific in serch of any species that would take a fly. I have been fortunate in my travels to find so many great fishing lakes, rivers and streams on this 'Great North American Continent'."
