The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen, Flies for Steelhead. They write that this impresionistic adult caddis imitation was developed by John Shewey and Dave McNeese for the Deschutes River. It is meant to be fished as a waking dry fly.
