(Fancy) Van Luven is dressed by Scott Howell. The original Van Luven was originated by Harry Van Luven and introduced on the Rogue River in the 1920's. It has long been considered a "staple" for any Steelhead flybox. The original version, as far as I can determine, called for a tail of red squirrel, a body of red chenille, ribbed with silver tinsel, a collar of grizzly, and a wing of red squirrel. This version, tied by Scotty incorporates modern materials into the making. These material have more than proven their effectiveness in recent years.
